It's MARCH, LET"S GO WALKING !!
The GMSO Walking Club walks at a couple of different locations. This event is FREE and is for athletes, parents, friends, caregivers; basically for anyone who enjoys getting out and having fun. Please let me know which group or groups you are interested in participating with.
Tuesdays at 6:15 at Bethesda Park in Lilburn. STARTING March 15, 2011.
This is off Ronald Regan Parkway at the Bethesda Church Road exit. Meet at the parking lot, near the Large Pavilion. Enter the park, turn right at the first stop sign, follow signs to the aquatic center, and continue on. You will find the large pavilion a parking lot and the football field. Judy Spando and Mike O'Connell will be leading the Bethesda Park groups. They could use one or more volunteers.
GMSO Walking Club is going to meet in front of the Senior Center. When you enter the park off Ronald Regan Parkway, come to the first stop sign and turn right. You will see the Senior Center in front of you. Turn right at the next stop sign and find you way to the parking lot.
Look for Judy Spando who will be your leader.
Thursdays At 6:15 at George Pierce Park in Suwannee. STARTING March 17.
Directions and parking will be advised. Jimmy Avant and Lucy Keller will be leading the Suwannee group. Meet at the back of the parking lot at the Seniors Center. Enter the park and turn left.
If you can't participate with these groups you can still do honor walks and get credit. For all walkers we will either have an end of season picnic, or barbeque. Maybe Mr. Boles will even smoke some meat for us. There will be a participation roster and prizes at the end of the season (late September).
PLEASE SIGN UP – by sending an email to info@GMSOga.org. Indicate the park (Bethesda or George Pierce) and the number of walkers in your group.
BE SURE TO BRING WATER and wear walking shoes or boots.
