A Day with the Hawks
Sunday, December 13th - Masters Basketball and Floor Hockey Athletes were guests of the Atlanta Hawks. Special Olympic Hockey coaches Chuck LaRue and Gary Bonds were given the treat from SOGA in thanks for volunteer work in the Henry County Floor Hockey program. Twenty athletes and coaches participated in the event. From front-row seating, they watched the pre-game warm-up. During the court side visit, they were joined by Hawks players Othello Hunter and Jeff Teague treated the Special Olympics Athletes to an autograph and picture session.
At game-time, the Hawks flew across the court with fury. The athletes gazed with excitement as the Hawks’ offensive madness ruled over the Nets. A personal visit by Hawks mascot, Skyhawk put the gravy on the biscuits! What a day!
